Dynamic waivers

Last reviewed 27 September 2026

A dynamic waiver turns all the documents a course needs into one thing the customer does once. They answer the questions on their phone and sign once. Side Quest Booking then prints their answers and signature onto your own documents, word for word, and keeps the signed copy.

What your customer sees

  1. One page of questions. Their name and date of birth, then every question from every document in the waiver (for example the 11 medical questions and the photo permission), in plain order, on their phone.
  2. Their document, filled in. Every page of your documents with their answers, ticks, names and dates already on it, and a yellow Sign here tag on each line that needs their signature.
  3. Signing each line. They draw their signature once, then tap each Sign here to put it there.
  4. Review, then Submit. The finished document with their signature on every line. Nothing is kept until they tap Submit.

If the answers they give are incomplete or don't make sense, they're told what to fix before they can sign. Nothing they've typed is lost.

What you get

Medical answers

When a dynamic waiver includes medical questions, any YES marks that person as needing a doctor's sign-off. You'll see this on the roster and on the Responses page, and you get an email straight away saying which questions they answered YES to and what they wrote. The customer is told too. Once a doctor has signed, you mark them cleared.

Under 18s

If the date of birth shows the participant is under 18, a parent or guardian signs instead. Their name and relationship are recorded, and their signature goes on the parent or guardian lines of your documents.

Who makes it

Side Quest Booking builds your dynamic waiver for you from the documents you send us. We map every blank on every page, match it to a question, and test it with sample signings before you see it. It then appears in your Waivers list, labelled Dynamic waiver, with a short description under its name.

Using it

It works like any other waiver: open it and tick the courses that need it. Everyone booked on those courses is asked to complete it with the rest of their booking details, at the desk, or through the walk-up QR code.

Switching over? If the dynamic waiver replaces waivers you already use, untick those on the same courses, or people will be asked to sign the same thing twice.

Changing it

A signed document never changes. When the wording of one of your documents changes, we build a new version. Anyone who signs after that signs the new version, and everything signed before stays exactly as it was.
